NACD 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee: Carl Riekes

The NACD Board of Directors is proud to announce Carl Riekes as the 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee, honoring a lifetime of leadership and innovation in the packaging industry.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Carl began his career in 1968 with S.Riekes & Sons, the family business. His journey took him from Denver to Southern California and back to Omaha, where he founded Ryco Packaging Corporation in 1985. Under his leadership, Ryco Packaging Corporation grew into a $150 million enterprise before being acquired in 2007 by TricorBraun. Carl later launched another successful venture, Riekes Container, which was acquired in 2017 by MJS Packaging.

Carl's impact on the NACD is equally significant. He served as President from 1981 to 1984, becoming the youngest to hold the position at age 35. His leadership modernized the organization, expanded membership, and introduced broader industry engagement through dynamic event programming.

Beyond business, Carl has remained active in philanthropic work in the Omaha Jewish community. He and his wife, Zoe, have been married for 55 years and are proud parents and grandparents.

Congratulations to Carl Riekes for his outstanding contributions.
